WSJ: Wal-Mart plans to cut 1,000-plus corporate jobs

Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT), which employs more than 1.5M people in the U.S., plans to cut more than 1,000 corporate jobs, WSJ reports.

The job cuts are expected to be broad based, focused on workers primarily at the company’s Arkansas headquarters, and likely will be completed by the end of the company’s fiscal year on Jan. 31, according to the report.

Yesterday, WMT pledged to give its store workers raises and bonuses.
